Korean Health Examination
Once you arrive in Korea, you have 90 days to complete a health examination. This is required by the Korean government, not your employer or Say Kimchi Recruiting. The results must be the same as what you wrote in your own health statement.
Korea does not tolerate drugs of any kind. If you fail the drug test, you will most likely be sent home. During this medical test, you will be tested for any contagious diseases that may be detrimental to a student’s health (AIDS, Hepatitis, STDs, etc.)
The exam will also include a drug test to determine whether the teacher has any traces of illegal substances in their system. These are conducted through blood samples and is a very quick process.
Most schools send a Korean co-teacher along with you to undergo your test in your first week of employment.
You must complete this test to get your foreigner ID card.
