Meet the Say Kimchi Recruiting Family!
Lindsay Nash
Owner, Say Kimchi Recruiting
Lindsay came up with Say Kimchi Recruiting while drinking a Hite outside a Ministop in her small neighborhood in Korea one night. What started as a fun weeknight distraction grew into a big project that is now connecting English speakers all over the world with teaching jobs in Korea.
Lindsay and her husband Whit are in their last months of a two-year stint teaching elementary students in Korea. They loved it so much they are currently planning their return trip back to the Land of the Morning Calm. (Read their blog from Korea here.)
Lindsay is originally from Chattanooga, TN, USA, and graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Mississippi (Go Rebs!).
When she’s not corresponding back and forth from Korea, you can find her behind her camera, strolling the streets of Asia, running mountain trails, writing freelance travel pieces, or—her favorite pastime—just hanging out with her better half, Whit.
E-mail her at lindsay@saykimchirecruiting.com.
Kim Han-na
Travel Agent, Korean recruiter
Hannah, as she is better known, is originally from Mokpo, South Korea but is currently living in the vibrant, beachy Korean east coast city of Busan. She graduated from Chosun University in Gwangju and has a master’s in English education. Her loves and hobbies include teddy bears, knitting, marathon running, climbing, travel, biking, and all kinds of arts, crafts and sports. In her words, she’s active, bright, positive, open-minded, and well-travelled.
She’s well known as an angel in foreigner circles in Korea for her tireless, selfless spirit in helping foreigners feel more at home. And if you need any airline tickets at all during your stay, don’t forget to hit her up for the guaranteed lowest deal in the country. The woman works magic when it comes to cheap tickets.
Lucy Kweon
Hailing from the coastal town of Go-Heung, South Korea, Lucy has been teaching English in Gwangju for nine years. Her enthusiasm for English is as strong as ever and her love of teaching kids equaled only by her love of meeting new faces from around the globe.
Her loves include reading in parks and coffee shops, cycling around the city, cooking (Korean's food obsession has to be seen to be believed), and watching movies. She is currently getting to know her own country more intimately, spending weekends travelling Korea with her British boyfriend.
Lucy's enthusiasm, warm-heartedness and love of helping others has made her the go to girl for many a foreigner in Korea - be it when simply settling in, or for those wishing to explore The Hermit Kingdom further.
In Cho
In started to study English because she wanted to read English books. But later, she realized she liked more the idea of helping other people who have language barriers in English. Becoming a recruiter is something she has thought about for awhile since she can introduce good teachers to Korean kids while helping these new teachers have a new adventure and experience.
In, originally from Gwangju, Korea, admits she’s reserved at first, but she’s definitely open-minded. She has a goal of traveling the world and seeing all the amazing things she’s read about with her own eyes.
In also proudly admits that she is in love with Anderson Cooper. So if you have any ideas that could help her create some nice, positive issues that Andy would want to report on, please let her know. Killing polar bears has already been mentioned and politely declined.
Whit Altizer
Whit is originally from North Carolina and also in the process of finishing a two-year contract teaching elementary students in Gwangju, South Korea with his wife, Lindsay Nash.
Whit always felt pulled toward Asia and often dreamed of living on the continent. He came to Korea because of the ease of getting there and the great pay. What started out as convenience has turned into a strong love for Korea’s culture, food and people. In two years abroad, he has never looked back.
He now spends his days working for his wife, eating kimchi, occasionally learning Korean, running the ubiquitous Korean trails and soaking up every second with his Korean students he has fallen in love with.

Eun-Ju Lee
Eun-ju is a resident of Gwangju, South Korea, and is very involved in the foreign community. She is married with two beautiful children. She loves to help out with foreigners and loves speaking English (and she's very good at it!)
